iVoox: The unstoppable growth of podcasting in Catalan

Given the increase in production and demand for audio in Catalan, the leading Catalan podcast platform, iVoox announces the adaptation of its app in this language, which has the largest catalog available, with a total of more than 8,400 podcasts in Catalan. Among the most popular content are programs such as Crims or La Sotana, which have thousands of followers on the platform, but also newly created shows with great potential such as El nuevo paradigma, by journalist Natza Farré and actress Judit Martín.

Beyond the audios from conventional radio stations, the Catalan language is enjoying a high point in the production of independent podcasts, which have an increasingly large and loyal audience. The emergence of the podcast in Catalan

In a sector that is booming, the creation of podcasts in Catalan is not lagging. According to data from the iVoox Observatory, content in Catalan has multiplied x4 in the last 5 years. By 2018, twice as many podcasts were created as in the previous year, and from 2019 to 2020, coinciding with the podcast boom and in a full pandemic, the number doubles again and this booming trend has continued to 2021.
