Emiro Aristizábal: new president of the Colombian Chamber of Books

Economist Emiro Aristizábal is the new executive president of the Colombian Book Chamber.


The board of directors of the Colombian Book Chamber has announced the appointment of Emiro Aristizábal Álvarez as the new executive president of the entity as of January 2022, following the resignation of Enrique González Villa, who held the position for the last 12 years.

Emiro Aristizábal is an economist from the University of Antioquia with postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics and was a member and president of the board of directors of the CCL for several periods, as well as coordinator of the financial committee of the trade association.

His career as a manager of public and private companies and extensive knowledge of the publishing sector is fundamental for this new challenge he assumes as president of the CCL, an entity that is in charge of the Bogotá International Book Fair, which this year returns, after two years in person; the modernization of the book sector in the country with the Colombia Lee Catalog; the management before the national government of different public policies to promote books and reading for each of the subsectors of the chain and continue supporting the development of publishing activity in the country, protecting the interests of all book agents.

«I hope to continue working for the development of a country of readers, now from this new position as executive president of the Colombian Book Chamber,» said Emiro Aristizábal.
