FIL Oaxaca, the home of all: the return to face-to-face fairs in Mexico

The city of Oaxaca is one of Mexico’s cultural centers where the contemporary and the ancestral coexist in all kinds of artistic expressions. For more than four decades, Proveedora Escolar, the book project that gave rise to the Almadía publishing house, has organized the Oaxaca Book Fair (FILO), a warm, and friendly event that has become one of the most important in the region. Carlos Rojas Urrutia, Lecturable’s communication strategy designer, talks with Vania Resendiz, director of the fair.

Spain is the guest country at the 40th edition of the Sharjah Book Fair

At the end of the first week of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), the balance could not be more favorable, according to the data obtained from the Publishers’ Conference, held as one of the major events of the fair. Todostuslibros.com celebrates its first anniversary

Todostuslibros.com has more than 450 registered bookstores, and with 325 making direct sales, almost 25% of the operations carried out this year have been managed by bookstores in Madrid, followed by those in Andalusia (16%) and Valencia (11.85%). That followed by Catalonia, the Basque Country, and Galicia.

Study on «Domestic Book Trade in Spain 2020»

The study of the Internal Book Trade, which has been prepared by the company Conecta Research & Consulting, constantly analyzes data on the trade of Spanish publishing companies over time. This analysis gives a good but uneven result, which obliges the Federation of Publishers’ Guilds of Spain to follow the whole world of books, because it is a study that reveals data on books and not only on the publishing sector, as well as continuing to work to promote reading and books.
